Neurological Conditions

The Feldenkrais Method® can improve the way you move by using brain plasticity.  Rather than changing the strength of your muscles, it aims to change the way your muscles are controlled by your brain.

Through the method, many variations of a movement may be gently explored, helping the brain clarify its body mapping and resulting in improved motor control and greater flexibility. During the process you will be encouraged to find easier, better ways of performing activities such as walking, rolling over, standing and breathing.

A sense of safety and support is a feature of the Feldenkrais Method®, created by the gentle movements and precise touch used. A feeling of ease of movement helps you to relax, allowing you to feel more comfortable in your body again.

What people are saying

I am aged 66 and have had Parkinson’s for 9 years. I also suffer from scoliosis and osteoporosis. Since March 2015 I have been treated with the Feldenkrais Method® by Yeu-Meng. It is very gentle and relaxing and after a session I feel taller, more stable and relaxed. It helps with my balance, makes movement easier and gives me a sense of wellbeing.

Working with Yeu-Meng has been an insightful education into my wellbeing. With her guidance I have been able to reintroduce myself to my body and mind, let go of habits and pain, to heal and accept limitations with a welcoming heart. She, through the Feldenkrais Method® of memory techniques, movement and support, has restored mobility I thought lost to me when MS took hold. I have a better understanding of my pain and how to obtain relief, I’m delighted to say often without medication! I am overwhelmed by my results and have the utmost respect for Yeu-Meng as a practitioner and human being. Thank you so much for all your help and support.
